The East Coast of Sri Lanka, coming alive since the middle of 2009 which was when the 30 year civil war of Sri Lanka came to an end, the region is now growing into quite the beach holiday hot spot. The North of Sri Lanka, has suffered at the hands of a vicious civil war which lasted 30 long years which finally ceased in mid 2009, the region was highly restricted to visitors and much of the area was un-crossable without the aid of the armed forces.
